Frequently asked questions

Here are the most frequently asked questions about our products and installation process. Feel free to contact us with any additional questions or comments.

  1. Will the BriteIce Lights damage the ice?
No. The film is only 1/100th of an inch thick and is bonded directly to the concrete. A special coating ensures a strong bond between the film and ice.

  2. Will the BriteIce lights change the ice surface temperature?
No. There is no change in the thermal transfer through the ice because the optical film is so thin. Also, the light source is located outside the dasherboards to keep the heat-generation away from the ice.

  3. How large can the BriteIce Light logos be?
Currently we are limited to 5'X10' logos but will produce 20'X20' in the future.

  4. How much do BriteIce Lights cost?
The price for a BriteIce Light is dependent on the size, location, colors, and controls. Our AdLights and DasherLights are priced at just a fraction of the increased sponsorship revenues that they produce. Please contact us for a quote.

  5. What colors can BriteIce make?
Red, green, blue, yellow, magenta, cyan and combinations of these colors.

  6. Can you make multiple color logos?
Yes. Although one and two color displays are standard, a full RGB display can be custom produced.

  7. Can you make moving and dynamic logos?
Yes. By stacking multiple logos in one location an image can appear to move.

  8. Can you scroll multiple logos in a single location?
Yes. Up to three single-color logos in a single spot.

  9. Can BriteIce make black or dark colors?
Not currently. The present technology can make glowing signs with the colors listed above. However, BriteIce is developing a patent pending technology for creating black and dark colors for the 2009-2010 season.

  10. How do BriteIce Lights compare to projected images on the ice?
Images from projectors are only visible with the house lights dimmed down. The BriteIce Lights are completely visible to everyone in attendance even under full arena lighting!
